On December 16th, 2019, I had a chance to visit IBM in Paris.
As a kid, I learned of IBM via my grandfather, who used to work for IBM in Japan as an electrical engineer in July 1970. Being able to visit the company of my dreams in person in Paris, the first-ever international branch of IBM, is truly an honorable experience for me.
I had a great tour around the client center: watching small documentaries about the services that IBM covers, seeing the TJ Bot that uses Watson AI services to function, experiencing the AI-backed clothes recommendation, etc. I also attended workshops on the history and structure of IBM, the blockchain technology, and of course AI. Exchanges with IBMers were so inspirational.
