Candidates have been selected on the basis of exceptional academic performance, and demonstration of strong leadership and community engagement. They all provided written personal statements on why they felt they should receive a scholarship, and these were assessed closely by a University panel.

  • Chosen to be 1 of 31 scholars to receive RMIT Full Scholarship in October 2012;
  • Chosen to represent Le Hong Phong High School scholars who received the scholarship to deliver a scholarship acceptance speech at the RMIT Vietnam Scholarship Ceremony at Le Hong Phong High School.

2. First Prize in Provincial High School Merit Competition – English division

    • Competed against selected 9th – 12th-grade students from 128 high schools in Saigon;
  • Ranked 1st in the annual Provincial High School Merit Competition for the English division.
3.Third Prize in “Chạm và Biến” (Touch and Go) Creativity Contest
Nov 2011  — Le Hong Phong High School for The Gifted

This competition requires that each participant come up with an innovative product that can help a specific segment of target users with everyday tasks.

  • Collaborated with 22 fellow members of English Gifted Class of 2012 to create a booklet that brings joy and efficiency to English learners exploring idioms;
  • Edited the copy and designed the layout of the booklet;
  • Published a 99-page booklet named “Animals Idioms” with an accompanying CD-ROM;
  • Won the collective 3rd prize for my English Gifted Class of 2012;

4. Second Prize in Provincial High School Merit Competition – English division

  • Competed against selected 9th – 12th-grade students from 128 high schools in Saigon;
  • Ranked 2nd in the annual Provincial High School Merit Competition for the English division.
5. Third Prize in English Gala 2010 for Acting
Feb 2011 Le Hong Phong High School for The Gifted
  • Acted in the drama of my English Gifted Class of 2012 on the social issue of overpopulation;
  • Won the collective 3rd prize after evaluation by English teachers.
6. Third Prize in English Gala 2010 for Solo Singing
Feb 2010 – Le Hong Phong High School for The Gifted
  • Sang an English song and won the 3rd Prize as a 10th-grader after evaluation from English teachers.
7. First Prize in Performing Arts Competition dedicated to Teacher’s Day
Nov 2009 – Le Hong Phong High School for The Gifted
  • Sang in the class choir and won the collective 1st prize for my class after evaluation by teachers of Le Hong Phong High School.
8. First Prize in Provincial Secondary School Merit Competition English division
Apr 2009 – Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training
  • Competed against selected 6th 9th-grade students from 328 secondary schools in Saigon;
  • Ranked 1st in the annual Provincial Secondary School Merit Competition for the English division.

10. Champion in Chess Competition for self-studied chess players
May 2008 – Nguyen Van Troi Junior High School
  • Participated in the Chess Competition for self-studied chess players, those who don’t follow any rigorous professional training programs;
  • Competed against 30 participants in untimed and timed rounds;
  • Won the championship for self-studied chess players in Nguyen Van Troi Junior High School.

  • Ranked 3rd in the annual Junior Mathematics Competition of Go Vap District.
